About our microfibre cloths
We stock various grades of microfibre cloths, each grade more coarse and more hard wearing than the previous. They range from the very finest cloths for use on glass, mirrors, vdu screens etc, to the much coarser types, more suited to cleaning kitchen cookers or even fitted to floor mops.

They are available in various colours to enable the buyer to use colour coding which ensures consistency, avoiding cross contamination and importantly providing clarity for cleaning staff.

What is a microfibre cloth?
Twice as fine as silk and one hundred times finer than human hair, micro fibre is a man made fibre that is ultra fine yet provides superior strength, a gentle drape and amazing softness.

Where to use microfibre cloths
Microfibre cloths are ideal for numerous uses in both commercial and domestic situations, and can often be used without chemicals. They are particularly effective on stainless steel, glass, chrome, tiles, granite, wood and laminates, and clean well on many other surfaces.

For the best results when cleaning glass, mirrors or other shiny surfaces, use A1 spray glass cleaner to clean the surface followed by a dry cloth to buff up for a smear-free shine. For trade use, many window cleaners now use microfibre cloths, particularly for internal glass in preference to using traditional scrim.

Maintaining your microfibre cloths
Microfibre cloths are able to absorb far more dirt and other particles than usual cloths and therefore need to be washed regularly to release the trapped dirt, so that they remain useful and working at optimum performance. They can be washed in a dilute solution of liquid detergent and either cold or warm water, but certainly not hot water.

Using a washing machine is not ideal as soap powders and fabric conditioner particles could get trapped in the microfibres. A Non bio liquid may be preferable,but beware because laundry products can be too alkaline, or may even contain bleach.

When drying, treat as you would delicate clothing, preferably just allow to dry naturally but certainly never dry with anything more than a medium heat, again this can affect the fibres and the cloth will be damaged.
